Karyn Robson

For the past five years, I have dedicated myself to full-time work as a reading interventionist. My journey in education spans over two decades, encompassing 25 years of teaching experience and five years of online tutoring. During this time, I served as a Montessori teacher for almost 25 years, primarily focused on elementary and middle school instruction, where I initially utilized SEE (Sequential English Education), an intervention program tailored for the Montessori classroom.

Throughout my teaching career, I delved into various methodologies to enhance literacy skills. I underwent OG training, exploring programs like Barton Reading and Spelling, as well as Hill Center methodologies (HillRap, HillWrite, and HillMath). My commitment to effective teaching led me to explore speech-to-print methods. I completed Reading Simplified training before discovering the transformative Evidence Based Literacy Instruction (EBLI). Currently in the process of certification in EBLI, I have witnessed remarkable results in my students. Notably, one student's MAP testing indicated growth in the 99th percentile, with achievement testing at the 87th percentile after approximately 18 sessions under my guidance.

My personal connection to dyslexia, with both my brothers and daughter being dyslexic, fuels my belief that every individual can learn to read with the right intervention and support. As a mother, sister, and teacher, I bring a unique perspective to my role. Recognizing the significance of the tutoring relationship, I always initiate a short getting-to-know-you session to ensure compatibility.

My ultimate goal as a tutor is to infuse joy into reading and writing, empowering each child to reach their full potential. I would love to discuss your child's needs further and explore the possibility of working together.
